Medication Refills

To refill an old prescription, please call your pharmacy so they can send us a refill request. For new prescriptions, it is best to make an appointment and discuss this medical situation with your provider. Please allow two business days for refills, and don't forget to plan ahead for weekends and holidays.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, we are not contracted with Medicaid, and per Texas State law, we cannot see you for any reason, even if you pay cash for the appointment.
Yes and No; legally, if you have Medicaid we cannot see you. With any other insurance, Yes, but the problem begins when you need treatment outside of our office. If we refer you somewhere for radiology services or to see a specialist and we are not contracted with your insurance; you may not be covered for the additional care and end up paying expensive bills for those services.
We do not accept walk-ins at Hyden Health Care. Please call our office to schedule an appointment. We make every effort to offer you an appointment within 24 hours.
Please call your pharmacy to request refill(s). They will send us a detailed request that can expidite the request. Please allow 48-72 hours to refill your medication. If you are overdue, you may need to make an appointment or obtain lab work before we can process your refill(s).
We will contact you regarding all testing performed at our office. If you have not received your test results after 14 days please call us as soon as possible.
If you are more than 15 minutes late or do not cancel your appointment with acceptable notice you will be marked as a “No-Show.” Upon your second “No-Show” you may be charged a $25 administrative fee or dismissed from our practice.
If you need your medical records for personal use, please ask the Receptionist at the Front Desk. If another facility needs them, please ask them to fax us a request so we can make sure they have everything they need to provide the best care to you.
If you have received a statement from our office you may call during business hours to discuss any questions or concerns.

Billing/Insurance Faq's

Your insurance company should send you your "EOB" that describes everything that was billed, however, we can give you a copy of your bill if requested. Most of the time we will call you about your balance but, we try to send paper statements out at least quarterly.
Generally, it takes from 7 to 45 days to obtain payment from an insurance carrier. This varies from company to company.
Each insurance company will have small differences in the amounts and calculation methods for services rendered. You will probably get a better explaination from them as to how the bill was calculated.
